Man on ‘America’s Most Wanted’ arrested on child abuse charges

A man wanted on child abuse charges — who was also recently featured on popular crime show “America’s Most Wanted” — was arrested in Florida after his two daughters launched a TikTok campaign in a bid to help hunt him down.

The search for Davie Albarran kicked off in late 2022, when the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest on two counts of sexual battery on a child under 12, WFTV reported.

Upon learning about the allegations, his daughters, Ana and Yaneiry, started posting online, calling on the public to help track him down. The sisters appeared on local news, shared video across social media platforms, and even joined the search themselves, staking out motels and homes belonging to other family members.

Ana also came forward with her own allegations, prompting even more accusations against Albarran, Fox 39 reported.

Then, earlier this month, Ana and Yaneiry appeared on an episode of “America’s Most Wanted,” a long-running show on Fox aimed at capturing suspected criminals on the lam.

Their appearance triggered an outpouring of tips, one of which included the alleged location of Albarran’s cellphone. The women in turn provided authorities with the cellphone ping, who were then able to track Albarran to a shed behind a home on Country Haven Drive in Lakeland.

“We go to this address and we’re surrounding the house and all of a sudden, the silence of late Sunday night is broken when we hear someone’s scurrying around in a shed,” Sheriff Grady Judd said with a wave of his finger. “So we said to ourselves, so that sounds like nefarious conduct afoot.”

Albarran attempted to lie about his identity, telling authorities his name was José, before he was taken into custody, police said. He remained behind bars at the Polk County jail on Tuesday.

Ana and her sister called his arrest “the greatest feeling in the world,” adding that they’re happy to finally move on from the ordeal.

“We are his karma,” Yaneiry said told WFTV. “I want him to see that we got him.”
