The 24-year-old is a self-proclaimed “pro-life Spider-Man” who raises money “for women in crisis pregnancies.”

Des Champs climbed the iconic structure, which stands 366 feet high and opened last September, as hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be in the city for the Super Bowl.

He shared a video on Instagram, claiming to be on top of the Sphere with a GoPro attached to his head.

“Hey guys, I’m here on top of the Sphere, I guess they’re gonna make me go through the top,” he said, referring to Las Vegas police.

Des Champs explained that he climbed the Sphere to raise money for a pregnant woman who was homeless.

“Big thanks, praise be to God and I’ll talk to you later.”

Sphere Entertainment thanked Las Vegas police for their support in the incident.

“The individuals involved are currently in the custody of LVMPD,” a spokesperson for Sphere Entertainment told The U.S. Sun.

Las Vegas Police Department later confirmed Des Champs’ arrest.

“24-year-old Maison Des Champs was arrested today for climbing a structure in the 200 block of Sands Ave,” the force wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and charged with Destroying Property of Another Greater than $5,000 and Conspiracy to Destroy Private Property.”

The incident comes four days out from the epic rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.

NO REGRETS

This isn’t the first time DesChamps has climbed a massive structure.

Shock video shows abortion activist dubbed ‘Pro-Life Spiderman’ scale New York Times building to hang protest banners

In 2022, he was arrested for free climbing to the top of Salesforce Tower – the second-tallest skyscraper in California.

“I’d do it again,” he told ABC affiliate KGO-TV at the time.

He told the outlet he climbed the tower in the hopes of raising $1 million to support anti-abortion charities, however, it’s unclear how much money was raised.

“We’re not trying to yell at women who want to have an abortion, we don’t want to blame them… we just want to let them know there are other options.”

The San Francisco Police Department charged DesChamps with two misdemeanors – one for trespassing and the other for resisting a police investigation, for not following orders to come down or stop climbing.

The Salesforce Tower is 1,070 feet tall with 61 stories, according to the building’s website.

In June 2022, he was arrested after descending the Devon Tower, which stands 844 feet, in downtown Oklahoma.

A month before, he climbed all 52 stories of The New York Times building in New York City, hanging two anti-abortion banners in the process.
