The publication has its roots in two separate publications, Engineer & Surveyor and The Plumber and Sanitary Engineer. The first issue of Engineering News-Record was published on April 5, 1917. On January 1st, 1987, the acronym ENR was adopted as the title of the magazine. The charts that follow use data that are courtesy of ENR magazine that is published 26 times a year. Historical data was pulled from microfiche copies of the magazine obtained from the New York Public Library. Copper Water Tubing
The ENR 20-City Average Price of 1 1/2” Copper Water Tubing notched another new record price before the most recent minor pullback nonetheless it is up 12.05% over the past 12-months.
Ductile Iron Pipe
Ductile Iron Pipe is up 19.95% from this time last year.
Reinforced Concrete Pipe
The 20-City Average Price of Reinforced Concrete Pipe marked another new high in the Q3 before the recent pullback but it remains up 15.07% from this time last year.
PVC Pipe
The 20-City Average Price of 8” Polyvinyl-Chloride Water Pipe notched another new high it is now up 51.68% from twelve months ago.
Aggregate Prices
Concrete Ready Mix
After a brief pause Ready Mix Concrete prices have added to the the gains marked in May and June and is now up 13.95% from this time last year.
Crushed Stone
The parabolic advance in the price of the 20-City Average Price of Crushed Stone also known as Base Course has resumed and is up 38.21% over the past twelve months.
Asphalt Paving
The ENR 20-City average cost of Cutback MC800 Asphalt (per ton) has reached another record price in November and is up 13.44% since November of last year.
Portland Cement
The 20-City Average Price of Portland Cement is up 21.64% over the past 12-months.
Masonry Sand
There has been no let up to the advance of 20-City Average Price of Masonry Sand over the past 12-months. Over that period Masonry Sand is up 47.82%.
